| Before
going into comedy full-time, I was the Public Relations Director for the
American Heart Association of Greater Miami.
I had the good fortune to work with the Smothers Brothers, who had
volunteered to tape a series of public service announcements (PSA's) for the
Heart Association.
Because I was such a big fan of Tom and Dick, I was able to write PSA's
for them that were perfectly in synch with their comedy style and rhythm.
They were thrilled with the scripts and we had a great afternoon taping
the spots.
(The outtakes were much funnier than the actual spots, but we would have
done permanent damage to the Heart Association's image had we aired those!) |
